Factors affecting the employability of private university graduates: an exploratory study on Bangladeshi employers

Purpose This paper aims to identify the factors that can affect overall graduate employability (OGE) of private university graduates Bangladesh. The authors carefully selected six such employable after searching existing literature. Those factors: academic performance (AP), technical skills (TS), communication (CS), personality (PE), leadership & motivational (LMS); and teamwork problem solving (TPSS), had been considered as independent variables while OGE single dependent variable. Design/methodology/approach collected primary data from a valid sample 360 employers through structured questionnaire working hiring managers. respondents were on random basis. used exploratory factor analysis validate items under those structural equation modeling with AMOS (24) test hypothesized relationship between each variable one. Findings After proper statistical analysis, results revealed AP, PE, CS TPSS positively significantly influence Bangladeshi LMS TS have positive but insignificant over OGE. Research limitations/implications Based findings, this help scholars in further investigating factors. Practical implications explorative study will guide fresh developing their required assisting recruiting suitable candidates performance.
